St Seraphim's Pilgrim Chapel is a unique heritage site in the North Norfolk pilgrimage village of Walsingham, incorporating a traditional Orthodox Chapel in the Byzantium style, Quiet Garden, Icon Gallery and railway heritage display. The Chapel was founded in 1967 for the local Orthodox community, converted from the former railway station, which opened in 1857 and closed in 1964.
St Seraphim’s has witnessed 44 years of traditional Orthodox icon painting by the iconographers Father David (Mark) Meyrick and Leon Liddament. St Seraphim's has a truly distinctive collection of icons on display in the chapel and icon gallery, including many painted by Father David and Leon. They placed particular emphasis on the early British Saints in their work, such as St. Columba and St. Alban.
The Quiet Garden is a natural haven which complements the spirituality of the Chapel and provides a calming and reflective space for use by pilgrims, visitors and the local community.
