Description

Cast in cold cast resin and has a gold effect patination. The Eagle measures 11” wide and 13” tall with a wooden base.  The Eagle was the French equivalent of the British Regimental Colour. This statuette is modelled after the Eagle captured by the RWF and other British forces at Martinique in 24 February 1809 from the 82nd French Regiment. The original eagle is on display at the Museum.

This statuette has been casted by artist Darius Sirmulevicius of Regimental Statuette Manufactures in Lincolnshire, England. Darius joined the company in 1997 and worked alongside veteran Bob Rowe until his retirement in 2014. Upon Bob’s retirement, Darius has taken over the company with his wife Anne and is now the sole caster and sculpture.
