Description

Five wires have been identified as priming wires from the objects recovered from the Mary Rose. These had two functions, to clear the vents or touch holes of a gun between firing and to puncture the paper or linen cartridges that contained the gunpowder.

This unique and bespoke brooch is made of plated metal alloy and is based on the top of one of these priming wires.

Comes in a Mary Rose giftbox.

Size – 3.5 cm x 2cm
