The Grey Woman
By Elizabeth Gaskell
Publisher: Rubicon Publishing inc. (Plumleaf Press)
The Grey Woman tells a powerful story of deception and mistrust. This complex tale is told from the perspective of the protagonist, Anna Scherer.
Much like her other work, this short story explores the theme of oppression of women in marriage, specially the lack of power and rights women had. This story was considered ahead of its time with its progressive feminist views and strong female protagonist.
