Telling the regiment’s story through its photographs; a story of duty, loyalty and tradition.
This stylish volume contains a selection of images ranging from the Heights of Sevastopol in 1855 during the Crimean War, to the moment in 2006 when members of the 1st Battalion, The Green Howards, replaced their silver ‘Alexandra cipher and Dannebrog’ cap badges for the ‘lion and rose’ of the new Yorkshire Regiment.
The images are drawn from the museum’s vast photograph archive. They show regulars, militia, volunteers and territorials, both at home in Yorkshire to postings and conflicts across the globe.
